Sharjah International Airport has significantly expanded its network, introducing new direct flights to various international destinations. In 2024, the airport welcomed over 17.1 million passengers, marking an 11.4% increase from the previous year. This growth is attributed to the addition of seven new air travel destinations, including four in Europe. Notable new routes include Warsaw, Krakow, Athens, Vienna, and Malé in the Maldives. These additions provide travelers with more options and enhance Sharjah's position as a global travel hub.

New Airline Partnerships

The airport has also expanded its collaborations, adding six new international airlines to its roster. These include Fly Jinnah from Pakistan, UR Airlines from Iraq, and Flynas from Saudi Arabia. These partnerships not only increase flight options but also strengthen Sharjah's connectivity with neighboring regions.

Enhanced Cargo Operations

In addition to passenger services, Sharjah International Airport has seen a substantial increase in cargo operations. The volume of cargo handled rose by 38.6% in 2024, reaching 195,909 tonnes. This surge underscores the airport's growing role as a logistics hub, facilitating efficient trade routes between the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
